And there was 2, another Sunday of being lazy, drinking too much, and eating shitty foods with all your buddies comes to an end. I hope all of you enjoyed your football Sunday, with that said we only have one more game left. That's right, the Super Bowl! If you were expecting to watch some good football this weekend like me, you were probably pretty disappointed unless your a die hard Falcons or Patriots fan. I was caught off guard by these blow out games, not so much by New England's game, but the Falcons absolutely wreaked havoc all over the Green Bay Packers in the Georgia Dome. I got a little biased after they beat the Cowboys in Dallas and just thought to myself there's no way they lose this game. But hey, way to prove me wrong Falcons. The injuries had finally caught up with the Packs. Just way to many key players injured to go toe to toe with a hungry Atlanta Falcons team, hopefully we're in for a much better Super Bowl. Today I hate to bring y'all some very sad news. 25 year old Pitcher Yordano Ventura of the Kansas City Royals died on Sunday, January 22nd. in a car accident in the Dominican Republican. This is heartbreaking news for the Royals family and all of MLB as we are not far removed from Miami Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez's death. We've had to many promising young players taken from us recently and it's a sad tragic event for all the families to go through. During Yordano's 4 year career with KC he was able to accumulate 38-31 record as a starting pitcher, with 3.89 ERA and 470 strikeouts. I remember watching some of his games he was a pure raw talent and had a great fastball. Today the world will mourn his death as he was taken from us to quickly.   It has officially been teased now.  The first Battlefield 1 paid DLC  They Shall Not Pass  (link to teaser trailer.).  With this paid DLC we will see the French army become playable, a new class called the Elite Class, a new tank, and new maps.  I will update this article when more information is released.

It's Championship Weekend and I can't wait to watch some football! Sadly it's all coming to end, it goes by so fast and that football hangover is starting to set in. Alright let's pick it up with a little news around the league before we jump into our Championship Sunday preview. Probably the biggest news of the week was the Oakland Raiders signing relocation papers to move the team to Las Vegas. Here's my hot take on it, if you didn't want your team leaving you should've of probably showed up to more games as a fan base simple as that, this also goes for you Chargers fans too. These NFL teams have to make money they're businesses. I think Vegas definitely needed a team, I understand why they did it, there's a huge untapped market in Vegas that's going to fill the pockets of the Raiders organization. Same with the Chargers moving to Los Angeles, the Rams moved there last year, but there's such a huge population to support both of those teams ...

  Well with the new year we all have wonder what the first event of the year will be for Overwatch.  Well this morning we got a glimpse of what it will be and it is The Year of the Rooster.  All I know of right now for the event is that we will get a new D.VA skin and a new Mei skin.   It was also confirmed today that there will be no valentine's event despite speculation.  So for all of you hoping Mercy and Gentian were really a thing we will have to wait and see.  I am excited to see what the first large scale event will be for the year.  I think we could get a St. Patricks day event.   (Update)  more skins were leaked today.  The image shows a Roadhog, Reinhardt, Winston, and Zenyatta.  This event is shaping up to be a good one so far.

Talk about a heated game as emotions were at a all time high for lastnights big time showdown with the Warriors and Thunder. You could tell OKC is still the bitter girlfriend that got stood up for the prom for the other "hot chick" when Kevin Durant choosed to leave them for the Warriors. KD had zero mercy on his old team racking up a huge performance with 40 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 blocks. That huge performance obviously shows he makes the Warriors a better team, they went on to romp OKC 121-100. I like to watch physical sports in general whether it be football, MMA, hockey, basketball, etc. I like a little contact in my sports. We may not always think of basketball as a contact sport, but with lastnights performances from both teams they proved that basketball is a very physical sport. I know there's going to be the occasional outrageously rediculous flop, but those guys lastnight may of well been playing rugby, shows how bitter this rivalry has gotten. ...

  Whats up, back again with the Dad of SBG blog post.  This got a lot of love from you guys last week so I am coming at it again. This week we are gonna talk about my weekend with my son.     We took a trip to my grandparents this weekend to go hunting and have some time away from our normal everyday life.  It is about a 4 hour trip from our house to theirs.  I grew up at my grandparents hunting, and fishing so it is my place of peace.     This weekend was the first time my son has gone down there with us and actually been old enough to enjoy the open outdoors that we have available there. He loved it. We started every morning by getting up and going to put out corn for the deer.  He would ride with me on the ranger and we would go into the woods and put out the corn at the food plots.  He thought he was the coolest kid in the world.  One afternoon after we had put corn out he wanted to try to see a deer.  This m...

I couldn't of been more wrong about this weekend and I'll admit guys I completely wiffed on the NFC playoff race. I really didn't see the Seahawks and Cowboys losing in the same week. I mean really, who did? It's been a wild week for football starting with the Alabama Crimson Tide's upset to Clemson in the National Championship. But we finally have our final four. Atalanta Falcons, Green Bay Packers, New England Patriots, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Next weekend we have the Divisional championships. Before we get into next weekends games let's review this week. Good god almighty, talk about a upset weekend for the NFC. The Cinderella Story has ended for the Dallas Cowboys this past Sunday. The big mean green fighting machine of Green Bay and Aaron Rodgers was just to much for Dak and the Cowboys. As expected the Patriots and Steelers won their games.   With the annocment of NBA 2k18 we have learned something amazing.  This game will come to the Nintendo Switch.  This is the first game in the 2k series to go to a Nintendo console.   I think this is the type of thing that the Switch will need to survive as a console.  I give a lot of credit to Nintendo for landing this one.   In other news about the game. It comes out on September 17 2017 for the Switch. No other console has had its release date confirmed. I will make the guess that it is coming that day to all consoles.   It will continue to be the game that is the gold standard in sports gaming.  Bringing back all of the features that gamers loved last year.

Alright guys, big update today on the potential megafight between Floyd Mayweather and Connor McGregor. President of the UFC Dana White offered a guaranteed $25 million for both Floyd and Connor to fight each other. Now that's just guaranteed money the fighters will make, that's not counting the dump truck loads of Benjamins they would make after the PPV buys. Now the PPV cuts haven't been negotiated yet as we're still in the early stages of this. Obviously Floyd will take the biggest piece of pie, but Connor has never had a payday quite like what Floyd is accostumed to. In Mayweathers last mega fight with Manny Pacquio he brought in somewhere between $220-230 million also shattering the record for the most PPV buys for a fight. So obviously it's going to take a lot to get Floyd to come out of retirement, the guy literally has nothing else to really prove and went undefeated his whole entire career, which is impressive in itself alone.   Well I'm sitting here in the 80° weather in a pop up blind waiting to see if something worth cleaning in this heat will emerge from the woods.  I'm really of the mind today that I don't care if they come or not it is just relaxing to be in the woods at all. Nintendo      Here comes Nintendo again with a major overhaul of their console.  This is a portable game system as well as the console for your living room.     The Switch will launch on March 3rd.  You can now preorder the Switch at  GameStop  and many other companies.  We will see if this is like the NES Classic and they make it impossible for people to get their hands on the Switch.   The price point is a good one in my opinion. It will start at $300 US.     The specs come in good enough to make the price OK.  It will have a chip based heavily off of the Nvidia Tegra X1.  It will also be capable of 4k video playback but only at 30fps.     Are you all excited about this or has Nintendo tainted the waters so much that you are hesitant.  

  Have you gotten banned from a game for being too good before? Yea me either but there are many players facing that issue right now on Battlefield 1.     The Fair Fight system has been in Battlefield since the good ole days of Battlefield 3.  It is getting shoved to the front of the page now because players that are having great matches or they are extremely good are getting hit with bans.  This is just another hurdle that this game is having to jump over.  I do believe that dive will repair this issue in the next few days.  We will all see.

I have some big news for you football fans today! A new football league is set to kick off next winter in 2018. I know we talked about the Spring League that's coming this Spring that's for NFL free agents, but this new Pacific Pro league is for young athletes coming out of high school that may of not been eligible to make it or just can't afford college or for college athletes that weren't drafted. There's a minimum three year waiting period after high school before these athletes can join the Pacific Pro Football League. The way the league is set up as of right now it will be made up of 4 teams with 50 players to a roster playing under pro rules. Here's the kicker though, on average each player will make about $50k to play in the league. This is huge for low income families that would struggle paying for their child's expenses while in college.   I have decided this is going to be a weekly sub blog that I do for the blog.  It's not gonna be our typical gaming or sports article it is gonna be a piece about being a dad and a sports loving game loving guy.  I feel like a lot of our viewers fit this category and it is a interesting subject. I would love some feedback about what everyone thinks about this type of article.   To start with I am a father who works a full time job and runs this company with my buddies.  I come home from work help with the kids and then they go to bed. Today we're going to go over a brief recap of the Wild Card Week for the Playoffs and then take a look at what's to come in Round 2 with some match-up talk and potential scenarios as we look toward the Divisional Playoff round. First things first, let's check out who made it out of Wild Card Week and bought themselves another week of football. So we got the Texans and Steelers on the AFC side. Seahawks and Packers on the NFC side. No major upsets or suprises this week. I knew it was going to be tough for Oakland without Carr leading the team. I'm sorry Raiders fans, you finally get your team to the playoffs then lose your QB in Week 16. It's just bad luck, but that's a young Raiders team so I think we'll be seeing them back in the mix next year.   There is a new patch out in the PTR and I am sure you have heard of the new hook for Roadhog.  Some people are excited about it and some hate it.  I have seen some videos of the hook not being able to pull people because a tree is in the way which makes sense but if you hit them before they are behind the tree and they make it to the tree that should not stop you.  They have also patched the pulling people through walls that has been happening lately.  The hook will now pull the enemy in front of you instead of on top and will break off if the Roadhog turns to quickly.  This will stop people from hooking you and throwing you off the side of the map.  I believe that these are all good patches that needed to be made.  The object detection and hit time need to be adjusted but other than that it should all work out better for the game.   In other patch notes, D.Va is getting a nerf.  Her health armor ratio is now 400/200 and instead of...

The college football playoff is among us, America's favorite sport. Today we're going to talk about the College Football National Championship, but first let me just rant a little bit. I'm still baffled why the NCAA or whoever is scheduling these games is so persistent for the national championship to be played on a damn Monday. Why? Why does this game have to be on a weekday that literally most everybody in America is going to want to watch and has to stay up till like midnight to watch the damn thing and then turn right around and go to work the next day. What is so wrong with a Saturday game? I just don't get it, it seemed to of worked just fine for the past 3 or 4 months playing on Saturdays. Okay, enough of that. I love some of the HD remakes that have come out here in the past year or more. And backward compatibility with the xbox one has helped take away the need to remake every game that we all wish we could be playing but there is one game that i want a hd remake too more than any.  It actually is two games that I want and not just one. I want Left for Dead.  I loved those games. They were a fun team based game that everyone could enjoy.  You didn't have to be good at it to have fun but if you were it was really fun.  The maps on those games were greatly thought out.  The zombies that the player could control had everything you could want in a character. I just think with all of these games getting remakes that this is one that should get some love too.   I mean Bioshock got remade why can't this.  If somehow someone at Valve sees this I'm asking nicely PLEASE REMAKE THESE GAMES!!!

  Well with 2016 in the bag it is time to look ahead to 2017 and the games that are on their way.  I think it is gonna be a big year in gaming.  Maybe even Nintendo can get back in the market with the Switch, but I wouldn't hold my breath.  Anyways let's get on to the list here. Ok football fans that's a wrap for the NFL's regular season and we finally have our 12 best teams for this years playoff. It's been a up and down season all year and it's pretty cool seeing the Cowboys, Raiders, Lions, and Dolphins back in the mix. Before we get into playoff talk big shout out to ya boy Tom Brady. Sunday he passed Miami Dolphins great Dan Marino on the all time passing yards list and is now in fourth place for the most passing yard. The irony in this is he was also playing against the Dolphins when he broke Marino's record. To start off, let's see who all clinched the playoffs this year.   To start the new year off I'm going to put out a list of my favorite beers.  This is list is setup based on taste only not which one I drink the most or anything like that. 5.  Shiner Bock.  This Texas based beer is among the top 5 for its great full body flavor.  I have not had a lot of it to give a great profile but I will but it amongst the top based on the few times I have had it. 4.  Castaway IPA.  This beer is brewed by the Kona Brewing Company.  It is a amazing summer beer and the best IPA that I have had to date.  The flavor is a great hoppy flavor with that perfect hint of grapefruit that really gives that refreshing taste. 3.   Sam Adams Boston Lager.
