College Football Playoff Final Alabama vs. Clemson

The college football playoff is among us, America's favorite sport. Today we're going to talk about the College Football National Championship, but first let me just rant a little bit. I'm still baffled why the NCAA or whoever is scheduling these games is so persistent for the national championship to be played on a damn Monday. Why? Why does this game have to be on a weekday that literally most everybody in America is going to want to watch and has to stay up till like midnight to watch the damn thing and then turn right around and go to work the next day. What is so wrong with a Saturday game? I just don't get it, it seemed to of worked just fine for the past 3 or 4 months playing on Saturdays.

Okay, enough of that. Now that that's off my chest lets talk some college football. Every Saturday I woke up super early as most college football fanatics just to watch College Game day and felt like a little kid on Christmas morning waiting on all the latest news and Corso's headgear pick and there's simply just no better feeling in the world knowing that your just going to be lazy all day, watch a ton of football, eat a bunch of food that's bad for you, and get drunk with your friends, sadly it's all coming to a end. This year has been a great season of football and we've had some great bowl games to put the cherry on top. Especially that USC vs. Penn State Rose Bowl, talk about classic shootout for the ages.

In this years National Championship game we've got a rematch the Alabama Crimson Tide vs. the Clemson Tigers. For those of you that don't remember last years game Alabama was able to derail Clemson's perfect season last year as the Tide caught some major breaks on special teams late in the ball game and was able to come out on top 45-40 in the big showdown out in the desert. But it's a new year guys and I know Clemson has a huge chip on their shoulder coming into this game after last years results. Deshaun Watson has got to have the game of his life to beat this Alabama team. Alabama has the most dominant defense I've ever seen at the collegiate level, when their defense alone is outscoring opposing teams offenses in just about every game that says a lot about just what kind of dominance that team can bring to the table.

I'm not going to sugar coat it for all the Bama fans out there, we will probably never see a run like this ever again. What Nick Saban and his staff have been able to accomplish at Alabama year in and year out is just amazing. He is the golden standard for college coaches around the country and the funny thing is when Nick finally rides off into the sunset, Alabama will probably go straight over to Clemson to hire Dabo Swinney. Dabo has also established himself and his program among the elite. Clemson no longer plays second fiddle to Florida State in the ACC. Clemson has been proving themselves every year of what kind of team and program they've built since they've hired Dabo. When you can beat Ohio State and Urban Meyer like you were playing against the scout team all-american bench warmers and just completely embarrass them on National Television for everyone to see then you know you're among the best of the best.

All things considered, the dismissal of Lane Kiffin from the Alabama play calling duties has me a little puzzled, but I know the mastermind of Nick Saban has a back up a plan. I must praise the genius of Nick Saban for having a solution after Kiffin. Steve Sarkisian is going to take over on offense and will be controlling the play calling for the Tide. I expect Sark to keep the offense the same to not confuse the freshman QB Jalen Hurts, but what Brent Venables does with his defensive play calling for Clemson is totally unpredictable and hard to prepare for as we seen against Ohio State. The key match-up for me to watch for is going to be the Alabama defense vs. Clemson offense. Those will be the best units either team puts on the field and it will ultimately come down to how many big time plays Clemson can make on that phenomenal defense of Alabama. My prediction of this game is similar to last years outcome. If there's one team that can put points on the board against Bama it's Deshaun Watson and Clemson, but I'm fully confident Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide will roll on to win this rematch, win another title and make it 5 National Championships in 10 years. Either way it goes we are in for one hell of a show to finish off this college football season.
