Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor Update on Potential Mega Fight
Alright guys, big update today on the potential megafight between Floyd Mayweather and Connor McGregor. President of the UFC Dana White offered a guaranteed $25 million for both Floyd and Connor to fight each other. Now that's just guaranteed money the fighters will make, that's not counting the dump truck loads of Benjamins they would make after the PPV buys. Now the PPV cuts haven't been negotiated yet as we're still in the early stages of this. Obviously Floyd will take the biggest piece of pie, but Connor has never had a payday quite like what Floyd is accostumed to.
In Mayweathers last mega fight with Manny Pacquio he brought in somewhere between $220-230 million also shattering the record for the most PPV buys for a fight. So obviously it's going to take a lot to get Floyd to come out of retirement, the guy literally has nothing else to really prove and went undefeated his whole entire career, which is impressive in itself alone. I believe if Floyd is going to have the true claim to be the best pound for pound fighter in the boxing world, he needs to give the best pound for pound UFC striker in the game a shot. This has been a widely debated topic on just who would actually win this in a boxing match. Most say Connor would never even touch Mayweather in a boxing ring, but we all know what would happen in a octagon. That's one thing you can't just decide to do one day, it takes years of training to fight in the cage. Just go watch CM Punks UFC debut fight, the dude got mangled and he trained for like 2 years for that fight.
Now this fight is still a farcry from happening right now. Atleast with today's news there's hope and things are moving in the right direction. It's always a good sign when numbers start flying around the place, and if one things for sure these two guys are the best of the best when it comes to smack talking and getting in their opponents heads before the fight even starts. They're both true showmans and great promoters of themselves, they know how to sell tickets to put asses in the seats. People want to watch the charismatic loud mouth that can fight just as good as he can talk. If y'all haven't already checked these guys out on social media y'all need too. They've been clowning each other hard for some time now only adding fuel to the fire. I think it's great for the sport and for the promoters, it means big green dollar signs.
I never thought anything would get as much hype as Mayweather vs. Pacquio, but this fight is finally picking up some serious traction and I a guarantee you this would shatter every record Mayweather and Pacman set. In all honesty we got that fight way to late in their careers and it was just a terrible shit show and left many of us disappointed, myself included. This is going to be a tough one to get, but it would easily go down as the biggest fight to ever happen. It's bound to produce both fighters with enough money to never even have to look at a ring again and just ride off into the sunset happily ever after. So I say, let's make this thing happen! Give the fans what they really want to see! Give us Mayweather vs. McGregor. Mano e Mano for the chance to call themselves the best fighter in hand to hand combat.
