The HomePod The Most Over Priced Device Yet

  Coming at on the 9th of February is the smart speaker from Apple called the HomePod.  It is a Bluetooth smart speaker for your home that has a built in assistant that we all know as Siri.  It has a sleek design and looks like it would fit in good on a desk full of other Apple devices.  With access to the entire Apple Music library it will be the ultimate music source.  But there is one thing.  The PRICE!!!

   This price point they are coming in at is wild.  It is $349 dollars out the gate.  This is much higher than the completion that is already in the market space.  Amazon was the first to take this market by storm with their amazing Echo.  This has become the leader in the market for smart home and a hub to control the smart home devices.  That device comes in at $199 and also has a smaller version of the device in the Echo Dot.  There are many more devices in this market as well.  Google has one and so does many of the audio companies.  I don't understand why they decided on this price point other than they are Apple and for some reason think that warrants the higher price point for the same device.  And Siri is going to have to step her game up if she wants to compete with Alexa.  I do believe that Apple will come out with a smaller cheaper Verizon of the device to compete with the Echo Dot and to try to fill the home with the device.  I just think the price point is going to be huge factor in sales.

  Today started the Bowl season and the start of Bowl Mania.  Capital One sponsored Bowl Mania this year and I personally like the idea a lot.  I am a huge fan of fantasy sports and pick ems and things like that because it adds a new level of interest to games that otherwise wouldn't matte to me.  That has always in my mind been the a big part of the success of March Madness.  With the amount of bowls seeming to grow every year something like Bowl Mania was bound to happen.      That being said the amount of bowls is also a little much.  Looking at the line up of bowl games from the Bowl Mania I was left asking myself some "Who is that team?"  And I follow sports and watch a lot of games a week.  That means that your average guy who either likes his one team or one conference is not going to have a clue who more than half of the teams in this games are and is going to have no interest in the games.   ...

Redskins Refuse to Wear the Color Rush Jersey Tonight

  The fact hat they are the only team that has fussed about this to this point is astounding. But what doesn’t make sense is, they have one of my favorite color rushes.  Theirs is actually enough of a change to make it cool. Unlike some jerseys.  I think they look good but whatever if the team doesn’t want to wear the jersey don’t think you should make them.

Battlefront 2 Pay to Play/ Death of Triple A Games

    Early Access started on Battlefront 2 and the outrage began immediately.  Everyone is saying that main characters of the franchise are locked behind either a pay wall or random luck of the draw with loot crates, that seem to take forever to obtain.  It is sad to see such a promising game get stuck with a pay to win setup.   Pay to win will be the death of the Triple A title and the larger developers if they don't see this.   It is insane to expect people who have already paid $60 for the game you made, to pay another amount of money to unlock content in the game. This model makes people feel like unappreciated and makes the consumer angry which is not a profitable business model.  I am perfectly fine with games that put cosmetics into loot boxes that I have the option to pay for.  This model does not effect the main game play and does not give anyone person a advantage just because they spend more money.
