Auburn and the 7 Years.

Here we are again.  Another article explaining the great decisions made by the University of Auburn to keep this man a job. If you would like to see some reference material for this article please refer to this links (Auburn Was a Fraud , Final Days of the Gus Bus)

Coming in hot after the victory to Alabama in the Iron Bowl the Auburn Tigers were looking like they were playoff bound for sure.  Then they went to Atlanta to face the Georgia Bulldogs again and that turned out to be a huge bust.  They came in with the same game plan that had won them the last game which wasn't going to work for a second time.  On top of that they tried to play Johnson who was not at full speed.  And it looked like they had only planned the week around having him fully healthy knowing he wouldn't be.

After all of this the time came for contract negotiation.  Arkansas was strolling up to the door of the Gus Bus.  They were talking nice salaries and years of commitment to the mediocre superstar.  And what did Auburn do.  They were like no Gus don't leave us because there is no one else to hire at the moment.  And instead of a 3 year deal or maybe even 4 they went and matched Arkansas and made it where in a year when they are tired of being little brother to Nick they will have to pay untold amounts of money to get rid of this clown.

Then comes New Years Day at the Peach Bowl.  The Auburn Tigers come to play the undefeated extremely talented UCF Knights.  They came out the gate looking like they were going and run the same offence that got them beat by Georgia the week before.  They looked like they thought they were going to run over this team that was undefeated and when they couldn't do that they did no adjusting to attempt to win the game.  They stuck with the same game plan and never deviated from that.  I can hear the Auburn faithful now saying " Well that is not all Gus fault the coordinators call the plays"  If Sabans coordinators weren't adapting to the game they would be fired or at least getting yelled at and the game plan would change.  But Gus is like that play will work if we run it 17 more times this game.

In closing I would like to say congratulations Auburn.  You get to be alright for the next 7 years or pay a huge chunk of change to try and be better.  But hey if your good with alright you will be happy.
