Has Alabama Ruined The SEC?

In the wake of all the recent hot seat talk going on around the SEC right now I found myself contemplating why can’t anybody else in the SEC seem to get it together anymore? I have to say it’s been just a disgusting year of football from a fans standpoint watching Conference play.

It’s Bama at the top every year and everybody else playing catch up. It’s seriously like watching a Pro Football team compared to abunch of High School teams with the occasional surprise from a Auburn, Georgia, Florida or LSU that can muster up a 10 win season. But the raw talent and coaching level seems nowhere near close anymore. There’s such a big gap now. And talking it over with a few buddy’s I think I may of figured out just what might be causing it.

I’ve come to the simple conclusion of Alabama being so dominant for the past decade has made it nearly impossible for any SEC Head Coach to have a safe job or get any kind of stable foothold. From day 1 the programs that hire a new HC in the SEC expects immediate results and success. That’s just football in the South we as fans expect our teams to win every game. So right off the bat your being picked apart weekly by the way your team performs on and off the field.

Year in and year out the Crimson Tide dominant the recruiting trail in the South. There’s no if ands or buts about it. It just is. The quicker you figure that out the better of you’ll be. But it seems very clear to me now getting the top recruits from the south and around the country every year has ruined the competitiveness in the South Eastern Conference. I know for almost a fact any of Alabama’s second team players could go start on any other team in the Conference with the exception of Georgia this year. And still even then some players would more than likely start over some of their first team players.

I believe it’s very fair to say as Alabama just grows stronger we’ve been witnessing the slow decline of the SEC over the past 5 or so years. If players know they aren’t getting looked at by Bama or they just simply don’t won’t to go to Bama, I believe they are leaving the SEC all together to play in different conferences where they have a much a more higher chance for success.

I mean what elite 5 star talent in their right minds would want to go to any other team in the SEC right now that isn’t Alabama or Georgia? It’s a complete waste of a college career if your goals are to win championships.

Saban has definitely made it a living hell for everybody that isn’t Alabama. Ecspecially in the SEC where he’s  built a well oiled machine that has won the last three straight SEC crowns and does nothing but eats, sleeps and breathes Football. And most important of all trusts in the “Saban Process”.

We’ll have to wait and see how the rest of the year pans out but the Crimson Tide have shown no signs of slowing down. Just maybe one of Saban’s longtime trusted assistants Kirby Smart now HC of the Georgia Bulldogs can dethrone the kings of the SEC come December.
