NFL Free Agents to get Spring Football League

By -
Finally we have something to look forward to in the spring besides baseball season kicking off and College Basketball's March Madness. The NFL announced today there will be a spring football league for NFL free agents coming in April 2017. This is exactly what we red blooded Americans need is more football!

Not to add, this is great news for the older players and for players that were never given the chance to shine. This could maybe even be turned into open tryouts where any average Joe can tryout and see what he can do against the pros. It's also good news for NFL teams and scouts, rather than just signing somebody for their name they get to see what some of these seasoned vets still have in the tank.

Now this spring league is not apart of the NFL in any way. It's for free agents only, players on a current NFL roster will be ineligible to participate. The spring league will last from April 5th to April 26th and will have just 4 teams with 6 games on the schedule.

This will be a very gritty competitive league because guys know this may be their last chance to prove themselves to GM's and coaches around the league. So we'll see what happens with this first annual spring league and as we continue to learn more about this we'll keep you updated here at Sports Bar Gaming.

Bowl Mania. How Many Bowls is too Many?

Today started the Bowl season and the start of Bowl Mania.  Capital One sponsored Bowl Mania this year and I personally like the idea a lot.  I am a huge fan of fantasy sports and pick ems and things like that because it adds a new level of interest to games that otherwise wouldn't matte to me.  That has always in my mind been the a big part of the success of March Madness.  With the amount of bowls seeming to grow every year something like Bowl Mania was bound to happen.      That being said the amount of bowls is also a little much.  Looking at the line up of bowl games from the Bowl Mania I was left asking myself some "Who is that team?"  And I follow sports and watch a lot of games a week.  That means that your average guy who either likes his one team or one conference is not going to have a clue who more than half of the teams in this games are and is going to have no interest in the games.   ...

Redskins Refuse to Wear the Color Rush Jersey Tonight

The fact hat they are the only team that has fussed about this to this point is astounding. But what doesn’t make sense is, they have one of my favorite color rushes.  Theirs is actually enough of a change to make it cool. Unlike some jerseys.  I think they look good but whatever if the team doesn’t want to wear the jersey don’t think you should make them.

Battlefront 2 Pay to Play/ Death of Triple A Games

Early Access started on Battlefront 2 and the outrage began immediately.  Everyone is saying that main characters of the franchise are locked behind either a pay wall or random luck of the draw with loot crates, that seem to take forever to obtain.  It is sad to see such a promising game get stuck with a pay to win setup.   Pay to win will be the death of the Triple A title and the larger developers if they don't see this.   It is insane to expect people who have already paid $60 for the game you made, to pay another amount of money to unlock content in the game. This model makes people feel like unappreciated and makes the consumer angry which is not a profitable business model.  I am perfectly fine with games that put cosmetics into loot boxes that I have the option to pay for.  This model does not effect the main game play and does not give anyone person a advantage just because they spend more money. Games such as Overwatch, Call of ...
